These four boys in the Kariobangi Kids Klub were the top learners in Scripture and Catechism. We pray that they will become leaders in the future Kids Klubs. Howard  - (photo on right)

FCB KIDS CLUBS - 2004

Part of the learning field for Faith College of the Bible students are the FCB Kid's Clubs. Faith College presently has four - Makongeni;  Kasaraini; Githurai; and an Ethiopian group.. The children are from the city and the slums - and everyone benefits. The Bible is taught to children who would never learn otherwise, and for many the only hope they have for the future is eternity in heaven with Christ. In that respect they are given the best

Above is a picture of Sammy’s Children’s Club that he teaches on Saturdays. He is working to get the adults to come, hoping to start a new church here. His helpers which are also FCB students.

Sammy has started this work from nothing and now he is reaching older teens up to 20 years old.  Joshua and John are good helpers.

Early Summer of 2004

The Students teamed together on Saturday for a good combined Kid’s Club special gathering on the grounds of FCB.

They had over a hundred kids from 11:00 to 3:00.  The power was off, so no films.  They taught them in classes, and played games and fed them.  The Carlsons provided 12 loaves of bread, a kilo of margarine, a 4-pound can of jam, 85 little bananas, two boxes of cookies (520 cookies), and two gallons of squash (highly concentrated fruit flavored drink) and several big bottles of drinking water, and plastic cups.

This is the group of over 100 children who came to FCB campus for the rally. This rally was just a small part of the total number of children ministered to each week by FCB students.

Above - "This FCB classroom is where biblical Greek and Historical Geography classes are taught to our students. What a joy to see the students turning the academic classroom into a place of deliverance from sin.

In all of these pictures, note that we are not doing the teaching. We have taught during the week in FCB, but now the “new missionaries” (22 African young men) are carrying on the ministry."  Howard

This rally, with games, food and Bible was perhaps one of the bigger events in their young lives.

They have so little materials for the young people –  please pray that supplies will be forthcoming, which can be used for the teens and young children as the students strive to teach them about Jesus Christ.  This needs to encompass all the other churches and schools as well.

Samuel Kogalloh's report of
the trip to the animal orphanage:

Makongeni Kids Club:

Trip to the Animal Orphanage, Saturday , 10th of July, 2004

"Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the Kingdom of God,"

said Jesus. Mark 10:14.

He knew and still knows that little children have greater faith in what the adults do and tell them. Therefore, if they are told the truth they will not depart from it.

When we had planned for this trip, we kept on praying that the Lord may provide funds for its implementation. These children were already contented that the Lord had already answered their prayers! which reminded me of Elijah at Mount Carmel praying for the rains; after three and a half years of drought, yet he had faith that it would rain that very day; and it rained heavily!

They looked forward to this date with great enthusiasm. Come the day, some arrived as early as 7:00 AM. We set off at 9:30 AM with a total number of 19 children [they took only the older kids], their teacher, Mrs. Benta Ouma; and Lamu Imaidoi, Japheth Mutuse and Samuel Kogalloh, all from FCB.

On arrival at the animal orphanage, we were shown round by a volunteer-guide, called Sato, who was very friendly to us and the kids. He was ready to explain everything that the kids wanted to know about the animals and birds orphaned here.

The most intriguing and oldest orphan being a chimp, named Max, who was forty-three years old. He was balding but still strong and funny. When called, he responds and begs for a bite! While his attendant came with food for him, he rushed in to get his cup from where he had kept it, in readiness for milk and juice. When it was drizzling, he went into his cage brought a blanket and covered himself comfortably; but after the drizzle, he spread this blanket and lay down on it scratching his body nervously.

The kids observed that this ape knows and does things as man does, execpt that he can't talk. They were so happy to watch him doing all sorts of fun-- wiping his face, rubbing his hair and sitting up making faces at the kids.

Other fascinating animals to the kids were the lions, very strong and proud; and the three little cubs -- three and a half months old-- playing about; the baboons, cheetah and the monkeys; and birds like the ostrich which kept on pecking and running around very fast, the beautiful cranes and the talking parrot.

After this long but joyous tour of the orphanage, which actually didn't seem long for the kids, we had a picnic together. What a delicious picnic it was! Having filled our stomachs with the delicacies, we settled down for the Word of God delivered by Samuel Kohalloh.

Majoring mainly on creation, the day animals were created, who named them and exalting God the grand designer, who designed every kind of animal and bird as it is from the beginning; by the word of His mouth, they came into being.
Having learnt that God is a great designer, and blasting the evolutionists, we played and had fun together.

We left at 4:00 PM, happy and satisfied to have heeded the Lord's command -- "Let the little children come to Me" -- praising and glorifying God all the way home.

To conclude, we would like to express our sincere thanks to the sponsors of these kids for the gesture they have shown to this worthy cause. May our good Lord bless you abundantly. It is our prayer that they will get more exposure of the Word of God. Continue praying for their salvation and our zeal to reach their parents, relatives and neighbors with the Word of God through them. Thanks once more.

We in the Lord's service, Lamu Imaidoi, Japheth Mutuse, Samuel Kogalloh
