"Blessed are ye that sow beside all waters, that send forth thither the feet of the ox…” Isaiah 32:20 FAITH COLLEGE OF THE BIBLE PREPARING FUTURE PASTORS AND MISSIONARIES IN AFRICA |
|
The Board of Governors for FCB |
The college offers a 4 year course of Biblical study on a high level, equivalent to what you would find in any U.S. college of the Bible. The graduates usually became teachers in their denominational schools, pastors, church administrators, and missionaries. “Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one… for we are labourers together with God…” from 1Cor.3 The students at first were to come from the East African Christian Alliance (EACA) then other students came in; a large number from Ethiopia, and Kenya. Recently the college was granted the right to offer a BA Th. Degree from a states side school if the student was qualified. Faith today has students from the EACA, Sudan, Uganda, Ethiopia, and surrounding area. The student fees are low for a college degree course, but even as low as it is, it is still beyond the reach of most of the national students. Many are sponsored by foreign donors. With the growing trend away from Biblical Christianity in Africa, and the africanisation of the Christian message, the college is committed to a strong emphasis on defending the fundamental teachings of the Christian faith. The students graduate Faith College of the Bible with a very sound understanding of the English Bible; plus, Greek and Hebrew, Theology, Apologetics, Church History, and pastoral studies.

(see website link below for full curriculum) Students assist local pastors with their worship and evangelistic outreach. Unfortunately many of the students have had large financial bills with the college. Because of the poverty of the country, even the small tuition - $150 a term for all expenses - tuition room and board included- is a burden many are not able to raise. This year - 2004 - FCB has 26 students. Through the generosity and hard work of many, the school has a fine computer lab in the library, thus preparing the Christian workers to enhance their ability to attain more tools for Christian work.

Howard states that this happens to many who have good minds and Christian hearts.
